Only Time Will Tell

Words.
I love words.
Some of my favorites are "zeitgeist" and "affinity" and "sincerely".
Another is "삶".

As much as I love words, I've never really been ever to combine them with another one of my loves, photography. A friend of mine, Jeff , aka 12FV, has been typograph-ing for as long as I can remember, and doing so with what looks like ease and perfection, at least to me. I recently came across video typography and it really was one of the most beautiful videos that I've seen. I always believed that photos spoke for themselves, but in this case, I felt that the words brought more life to the already alluring images. Take a look at the videos, and maybe you'll see what I mean:

My friends Phil and Keny have also been experimenting with typography these days, and they seem to be having doing a good job and having some fun with it as well. I've always felt a little hesitant and a little nervous to try it. I mean, in all simplicity it just looks like words on a picture, but I think those who have tried it know that it's much more than that. What I'm trying to say, is, that I tried to try it. Without further ado, this week's post. Enjoy! And any comments and critiques are appreciated!

Thanks for making it all the way through,
hope it was worth your time ;)

Til Next Time!

  1. inside the trolly Does have really nice light. i think you are on your way with type, i think a main characteristic about type is it cant be over bearing. you do a good job in keeping it delicate. the fonts you chose have logic to them too.

love the eerie ghost town mood! oh i like the title too, j cole uses it in a few of his lines that i love.

  4. Hello Christina! My name is Yagmur and I’m part of the EF video team. I was happy to see our “Live the Language” films on your blog. This weekend we posted 3 more films in the same series, from Sydney, Vancouver and Los Angeles, which we produced together with the same creative team. This time we added some color in the graphics and played around more with sound effects.
